Hosta 'Silver Lode'

A tetraploid sport of H. 'Silver Streak', this cultivar was registered by Roy Klehm of Illinois in 1999. It grows into a large size hosta about 19 inches in height and 38 inches wide with slightly wavy, ovate foliage with thick substance. It produces lavender flowers in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...does not at all resemble its mother plant..."

The Hosta Journal (2018 Vol. 49 No. R) states that this cultivar was originally registered as 'Silver Load' which was a typographical error that has now been corrected.
