Hosta 'Yellow Highness'

Clarence Owens of Michigan registered this self-pollinated seedling of H. 'Gold Regal' in 1990. This is a large size (32 inches high by 58 inches wide) hosta with medium to bright gold colored foliage. The leaves are ovate, wavy, moderately corrugated and wavy with good substance. Very pale lavender flowers bloom from late July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...improves upon 'Gold Regal' by its brighter gold color. It also has a more upright mound habit..."

The registration materials indicate that this cultivar was also known as 'Yellow High' but was registered as 'Yellow HIghness'.
