This
hybrid of two of
Paul Aden's seedlings was registered by him in 1976. It
forms a medium sized (18 inches high) mound of heavily streaked foliage. It has
slightly wavy, smooth textured leaves that are very shiny
underneath. Bright purple flowers are borne in late July to mid
August.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis
(2009), this cultivar "...has a significant place in hosta
history, both as a garden plant and in breeding programs...It
has a tendency to sport, so offtype shoots need to be culled
frequently...It was one of the first streaked plants used by
hybridizers in the 1970s to produce variegated seedlings."
