Abelia

Depending on the taxonomist you consult, there are between 15 and 30 species in this genus of shrubs. They are native to parts of Eastern Asia and Southern North America. It is named for Dr. Clarke Abel (1780-1826).

At least one source says that this genus has been incorporated into the genus, Linnaea.
