Corydalis

This is a genus of around 470 species of annuals and herbaceous perennials. They are mostly native to the Northern Hemisphere and mountainous regions of tropical Africa. China is especially prominent with over 350 species of Corydalis.

The yellow form, C. lutea, makes a great companion in the shade garden. Its fine textured foliage works well with large leafed hostas. Also, the yellow flowers and blue leafed plants make for a complementary color combination.
