This area of the world is know for a very wide range of different plant life. It includes arctic, temperate, subtropical and tropical climate zones. The land area is much larger than that in the Southern Hemisphere and many plant species were "discovered" by European plant explorers in parts of this region which were then introduced to the rest of the world.
