Eurasia is a name that applies to two entire continents: Europe and Asia. This is a vast amount of real estate and it seems difficult to believe that many plants are adapted to such a diverse number of climates.

However, many plant resources i.e. books, internet, etc. often list the origin of a plant as "Eurasia". So, we have included this map to help you get an idea of the area. Of course, we would prefer to have a more specific designation for the origin of plant species.

Many plant species were "discovered" by European plant explorers in this region and were then introduced to the rest of the world.
