Needles are much crowded and directed forward and upward, to 1 1/2” long, acute or rounded at apex, pale bluish green and slightly grooved, with silvery-gray stomatal bands below.
 
 
Grayish to chalk white bark
 

 

Generally not suited to hot, dry climates even in the Midwest United States

  • 'Glauca’ is a rich silver-blue needle form, habit is pyramidal.
     
  • ‘Glauca Compacta’ is a dwarf pyramid with silver-blue congested foliage.
