Shrub or small tree.
10 to 30 feet - Slow to medium growth rate.
Greenish yellow on erect, 3 to 6 inch racemes in June.
 
Opposite, simple, 3-lobed or sometimes slightly 5-lobed, 2 to 5” long, cordate, lobes ovate, acuminate, coarsely and irregularly serrate, dark yellowish green and smooth above, paler beneath and covered with a short grayish down.
