Brunnera macrophylla
aka Anchusa myosotidiflora
or Myosotis macrophylla
Siberian Bugloss aka Caucasian Bugloss, Hardy Forget Me Not, Dwarf Anchusa, Heartleaf Brunnera, Siberian Forget Me Not
Siberia and the Caucasus Mountains

Somewhat rough, hairy, clump-forming perennial, with stems arising from a central crown. Texture is coarse.
12-18 inch stems
¼ inch yellow-centered blue flowers. They are borne in coiled, 1-sided cymes above the foliage. The cymes uncoil as the flowers open.
April-June
Almost blackish green leaves are arranged alternately along the slender stems. The basal leaves are large, long-petioled, egg-shaped and attached at the wide end to the petiole. The leaf apex is sharply pointed and the base is shallowly lobed (cordate). Leaf size and petiole length diminish with the height of the stem until the upper leaves are about ½ the size of the basal leaves and are very short petioled or lack a petiole (sessile). After the plant flowers, the leaves increase in size until they are 8 inches wide by midsummer, giving the plant a somewhat coarse appearance.

The cordate shaped leaves and blue flowers resemble Forget Me Not (Myosotis).
