									This
									mountainous region between
									Russia to the
north and Iran to the south is nestled
between the Black Sea to the west and the
Caspian Sea to the east. The area is the
homeland of many plants that have found
their way into the home landscapes of temperate
zone gardens. Many plant species were "discovered"
									by European

plant explorers in this region and were
then introduced to the rest of the world.
