Clusters of bright lilac-purple flowers
Mid-May on previous season's branches. It is earliest of the buddleias to bloom.
 
Wide-spreading, arching branches give it the appearance of a large fountain.
 
 
Hardiest of the woody buddleias
 
 
Thrives in poor, well-drained gravelly soils
