Dense, mounded species.
24 inches tall and 12-18 inches wide
Three large bracts, 4-6 inches in diameter, encircle the true flowers. The eye-catching bracts are greenish-yellow. Additional leafy bracts subtend the showy bracts.
Early summer.
The alternate, oblong-lanceolate leaves are 3-4 inches long and ˝ inch wide. There is a conspicuous white midrib on each leaf.
