Large, fluffy plumes of pink to peach flowers
Late spring to early summer.
This species is distinguished from a similar species, F. ulmaria by having leaves that are green on the bottom, flower petals that are pink and straight fruits.
 
Performs poorly in areas with hot and dry summers
 
 
Filipendula is derived from filum, meaning a thread and pendulus. meaning hanging and refers to the tubers which hang from the root system.
