Low-growing mound with procumbent branches
6-12 inches tall and 12-15 inches wide.
The flower colors are numerous and include yellow, orange. red, pink and bicolors. The symmetrical flower contains 5 petals, 5 sepals and numerous stamens. Flowers are about 1 inch wide and have a crepe paper-like texture.
Late spring to early summer
Gray-green leaves are usually opposite, ovate to lanceolate in shape. They are 1-2 inches long and are gray-tomentose on the lower leaf surfaces. Margins are flat or slightly revolute.

  • 'St. Mary's' - Large white flowers, green foliage.
  • 'Wisley Pink' - Soft pink on gray foliage.
  • 'Wisley Primrose' - Soft yellow flowers, gray foliage
Flowers open only in bright sunlight, hence the common name.
