Various colors depending upon cultivar chosen. Individual flowers are about 1 inch long, the 6 perianth segments are wide spreading and reflexed and they are extremely fragrant with a sweet odor. There are 15 to 30 or more flowers per inflorescence, which is a cylindrical raceme that terminates a rigid flower scape.
Spring
3-4 basal leaves, strap-shaped, many parallel veins, margins are upturned, which creates a shape like the keel of a boat leaves can be 1 inch wide and up to 12 inches long.
