Yellow flowers which are not outstanding with 3 to 9 in a cluster at the end of a shoot.
 
Leaves are the largest of the hardy hypericums, being 3-4 inches long.
 
 
 
Mature fruits are dried capsules but in ripening are red and about the size of a large pea
 
 
 
 
"Tutsan" is a form of a French word meaning to heal all. The plant was supposed to have many curing properties, probably because the wine-colored juice of the ripening fruits.
