Impatiens noli-tangere
Yellow Balsam
Eurasia

Annual of the damp woodlot or shady areas.

Yellow flowers with brown spots borne on axillary racemes. The early flowers do not open and are self-pollinated (cleistogamous).

Sharp toothed leaves.

Many species of impatiens are called "touch me not" because they have pressure sensitive, exploding (dehiscent) capsules that scatter the seed away from the plant when ripe.
