Impatiens pallida
Pale Jewel Weed aka Snapweed
North America

Annual of floodplains and shaded, damp areas.

Yellow flowers with 3 sepals (one forming a spur) and 5 petals. Related species, I. capensis has orange flowers.

Glandular petioles with bluntly toothed leaves.

Many species of impatiens are called "touch me not" because they have pressure sensitive, exploding (dehiscent) capsules that scatter the seed away from the plant when ripe.
