Imperata cylindrica var. rubra Japanese Blood Grass, Red Baron Blood Grass 5-9 Japan Upright stems 12-18 inches tall. Clumps slowly spread by rhizomes     Leaf blades ¼ inch wide and 12-18 inches long. The key identification feature is the bright red coloration of the leaves, which appears in early summer and lasts until late autumn.   'Red Baron' - does not produce flowers.
