Shrub with erect, unbranching stems

Flowers appear in clusters at the axlls of the leaves about two-thirds of the way up the stem, which is crowned by several leafy stems. Pink flowers have a saucer like corolla with indentations into which fit the stamens until they are disturbed, whereupon they are sprung toward the center of the flower, distributing the pollen in the process.
