4-6 feet tall and 4 feet wide
1-2 inches wide and composed of numerous ray flowers with a yellow center
Late summer to fall
Entire, pubescent and are sessile to the stem, 4-5 inches long
 
Usually will require staking
  • 'Alma Potschke' - 3-4 feet, bright rose-pink flowers
  • 'Barr's Pink' - 4 feet, semidouble, rose-pink flowers.
  • 'Harrington's Pink' - 3-5 feet, salmon-pink flowers, later flowering than other cultivars.
  • 'Hella Lacey' - 4-5 feet, violet-blue flowers.
  • 'Lye End Beauty' - 4-5 feet, excellent ruby-red flowers, requires support.
  • 'Purple Dome' - Forms a solid purple mound, 18 inches tall and 36 inches wide. The flowers are semidouble, 1˝ inches wide and cover the plant in early fall.
  • 'September Ruby' - 3-5 feet, ruby red flowers, needs support.
