  • var. japonica - from Japan differs slightly from the species in being more treelike in habit, taller and slightly later to flower.
  • 'Chantilly Lace - Pale yellow margins on the leaves.
  • 'Ivory Silk' - Flowers at a young age. Compact, dense form 20 to 25 feet high.
  • var. mandshurioa - Shrubby, 6 to 8 feet high with smaller flowers.
  • 'Regent' - Upright form, vigorous grower.
  • 'Summer Snow' - Compact, rounded form. Profuse, large flowers and cherry-like bark.
