clump-forming plant
12 inches tall and 12-24 inches wide.
Pale to deep purple flowers borne in a loose raceme, calyx tubular or campanulate,  corolla ½ inch long, lower lip large and upper lip small. Usually grown for foliage effect.
Early to midsummer
Evergreen, opposite, oblong, ½-¾ inch long, often a serrate or crenate margin, cuneate at the base.
 
 
 
 
Teucrium was named after Teucher, a Trojan prince who first used one of the species in medicine.
