Hosta
'American Eagle'

Van Wade of Wade and Gatton Nursery (Closed 2019) of Ohio registered this sport of H. 'Zounds' in 1999. It has heavily corrugated, thick textured foliage and forms a large size (20 inches  high by 30 inches wide) mound. Very pale lavender flowers appear from late June into July.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Slow growth rate. An outstanding newer introduction...The wide yellowish leaf margin is a striking contrast to the exceptionally dark green base color."
