Hosta 'Big Dipper'

This seedling of H. 'Gold Regal' was registered by Bob Kuk of Kuk's Forest in Ohio in 1995. It grows into a large size hosta 25 inches tall and a width of 46 inches. The wavy, slightly corrugated leaves start the season chartreuse in color and gradually change to bright gold. Near white flowers bloom in late June.

Similar cultivars include H. 'Yellow Highness'.

These 2010 photos were taken at the Ralph (Herb) and Dorothy Benedict Hosta Hillside in Michigan, tours and vendors at The American Hosta Society National Convention in Minnesota, Wade and Gatton Nursery and Wade Botanical Gardens in Ohio, Toledo Botanical Garden and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
