Originated by Dan Wols of Illinois, this non-registered cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Theo's Blue' × H. 'Smoke Signals'. It is a medium size hosta with intensely blue-green foliage that holds its color well into the fall.

The Hosta Library and MyHostas database show a plant called H. 'Cubbie Blue' while the 2022 AHS Online Auction shows one called H. 'Cubby Blue', both by Dan Wols. We suspect that the AHS site is correct but were unable to find any other references.
