![](../../images/cultivars-z/Z-golden-fountain.jpg) Jim Dishon of Michigan registered this hybrid of H. 'Beatrice' × H. 'Green
Fountain' in 1993. The large size (23 inches high) mound has moderately wavy
foliage with a thin tip. Purple flowers bloom from mid-August into September.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this plant "...is another cultivar that holds true
to its name
i.e. being a fountain like mound of gold foliage. It has
an excellent rate of growth and would make an ideal plant for the
center of an island bed."

The
Hosta Journal, (2006 Vol. 37 No. 2), in an article
about flower characteristics stated that this cultivar has "...deep
reddish-purple flower buds on glaucous scapes..."
