Hosta 'Great Lakes Gold'

Dr. Dick and Jane Ward of Ohio registered this hybrid of H. 'White Vision' × H. montana macrophylla in 2000. A large size plant (22 inches high by 66 inches wide), it has rippled, piecrust margined gold foliage and forms very pale lavender flowers from late June into July followed by viable seeds.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...rates as one of the best gold leaved cultivars with piecrust margins."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "One of the very few large golden-yellow hostas having distinctly rippled edges."
