Hosta 'Mop Top'

Registered by Dr. Doug and Mardy Beilstein of Ohio in 2009, this fast growing cultivar is a hybrid of (H. 'Little Jim' × H. 'Green Sheen') × unnamed hosta. The leaves on this miniature size (4 inches high by 12 inches wide) plant are dark green, unruly, slightly rippled, folded, lanceolate and slightly shiny on top. It bears pure white, tubular flowers on scapes up to 13 inches tall.

According to the registration materials: "...confused hosta that sends leaves in every direction, long narrow leaves with ruffling that gives the hosta movement..."

The originator made the following comment on the Fraternal Order of Seedy Fellows website: "Confusion rains in this hosta, leaves go everywhere! Short leaves with ruffles give this hosta a look of motion. Goes to TC fall 2009. "
