This plant was
is the stable form of the streaked cultivar H. 'Neat
Splash' and was registered by the
American Hosta
Society in 1986.
The plant forms a medium sized (17 inches high) mound of
streaked foliage. Its leaves are rounded at the base, slightly
wavy and have average substance. In late July to August, it
bears medium purple colored flowers.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis
(2009), "In 1986 the American Hosta
Society decided to name and register this sport, which had been
found in many hosta collections. Nearly every specimen of 'Neat
Splash' eventually develops this form. In fact many plants
labeled 'Neat Splash' are actually 'Neat Splash Rim'."
