Hosta 'Independence Day'
 

This cultivar is a sport of H. 'Gold Regal' was registered by Van Wade of Wade and Gatton Nursery (Closed 2019) of Ohio in 1998. With a vase shaped form, this plant gets very large at 35 inches tall and 79 inches wide. Its lavender flowers bloom large numbers.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Van Wade was so taken with the beauty of this plant in bloom on July 4, 1996 that he named it' independence Day'. For a few years it was known merely as 'Gold Regal Margined'."
