Hosta 'Lemon Ice'

This is one of those cases where there are two different cultivars which share the same name. One of them is a non-registered plant from Ron Livingston while the other is a registered hosta from Bob Solberg. According to the rules, the registered plant is the "official" one and the other needs to have its name changed.

A hybrid of an F2 seedling of H. clausa normalis x H. 'Strawberry Banana Smoothie', this cultivar was registered by Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina in 2011. It is a medium size plant about 12 inches high by 26 inches wide with medium yellow colored foliage. The leaves are slightly folded, slightly corrugated, ovate and slightly shiny on top. It bears tubular shaped flowers from mid-July into August which set viable seeds in yellow-green pods.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Lemon Ice' (Solberg)

This non-registered seedling selection of unidentified parentage is from Ron Livingston of Michigan. It is a large size plant about 22 inches high with a spread of 43 inches of light yellow foliage.
