Hosta clausa normalis

This variety of the species is native to Korea and was first described by Dr. Fumio Maekawa in 1937. It is basically the same as the species, H. clausa except that, unlike the species, its flowers open normally. The plant is large size growing to about 20 inches high with a spread of 54 inches. It bears bell-shaped, medium purple flowers in August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...indistinguishable from H. clausa until it blooms in August."
