Low spreading creeper. Grows rapidly.
8-12 inches tall and 12 inches wide
Star shaped, pale blue flowers are borne in loose panicles. Individual flowers are ˝-1 inch wide
Late spring and early summer
Alternate leaves, cordate to ovate shape, margin sharply toothed, leaf surfaces have scattered hairs especially on lower surface. Leaves are 1˝-2˝ inches long, the petiole being two-thirds of the length.
 
Grows best in medium shade to full sun and tolerates nearly any soil of moderate fertility as long as it is well drained.
  • Campanula elatines var. garganica (Adriatic or Dalmatian Bellflower). Smaller - grayish, hairy but shiny leaves - flowers are violet-blue with a white eye.
