Forms large clumps with erect flower stems
Range in height from ½-4 feet, depending upon the cultivar
5-9 flowers, often fragrant 3-4 inches long, tube ½-1 inch, pedicels 1-2 inches long with small, lanceolate bracts, lobes about ¾ inch or less broad. Flowers are borne on a leafless stem called a flower scape. Flowers can be obtained in almost any color of the rainbow. They generally last one day.
Early summer to frost
Long linear leaves, 1-2 feet, ½-1 inch wide
