Hosta 'Abby'

This sport of H. 'Gold Drop' was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1990. It grows to about 12 inches in height and 30 inches in width. Medium lavender flowers are borne from late June into July.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "A superb small hosta. One of the most popular sports of H. 'Gold Drop'."

The following poem by Judy Burns of Georgia was included in  The Hosta Journal (2010 Vol. 41 No. 1).

I love 'Lady Isobel Barnett',
She's my favorite hosta, and yet,
I also love 'Francee',
'Naomi' and 'Nancy',
And 'Abby', and 'June', and 'Coquette'.
