introduction, this
hybrid of H. ventricosa was registered by Tony in
1995. It forms a
large size mound about 20 inches high by 42 inches wide with
wavy, unruly foliage that comes to a curved tip. The dark purple
flowers begin to bloom in mid-July.

In an article about hybridizing by
Tony Avent in
The
Hosta Journal (1996 Vol. 27 No. 1), Tony gives the
following comments on cultivars he has introduced: "H. 'Waving Wuffles' -
seedling of H. ventricosa with much narrower leaves and incredible
ruffling...the clump gets much better with age!"
