Leafrollers and leaf tiers are small caterpillars that use webbing to pull the sides of leaves together into a roll. They then feed inside under cover. This gives them protection from predators including human ones with their spray cans.

Some types of leaf rollers spend their entire life inside the leaf while other spend part of their life cycle also chewing on fruits, buds and flowers. This second type is, of course, the more destructive form.

They may be controlled using the same techniques as for treating other caterpillar species.
