Similar to that of Acer campestre or Acer buergeranum.
30 to 40 feet - Fast growing
Greenish yellow borne in pyramidal corymbs during May
 
Opposite, simple, 4 to 6” wide, 3 to 5” high, mostly 5-lobed, each lobe with prominent indentations, long acuminate, cordate, flat to semilustrous dark green above, lower surface olive-green, pubescent, prominently so on veins, tufts of hairs in axils; petiole 4 to 7” long, pubescent, with milky sap.
Pale yellow - Along with Acer mandshuricum one of the earliest maples to develop fall color.
