Rhizomatous colony forming perennial of cultivated areas.
10-12 inches
Yellowish flowers in many-rayed umbels: as the flowers mature, the color becomes purplish to reddish.
Mid to late spring
Numerous leaves, linear, to 1˝ inches long, entire, floral leaves whorled and ovate-cordate, very soft foliage, milky sap exudes from broken stems or foliage.
 
Full sun, does well on dry banks where little else will grow. It may become invasive when grown in moist, fertile soil so take care in using this in the landscape.
