Weakly pyramidal tree.
70 to 90 feet tall.
 
 
Alternate, simple, elliptic to ovate or obovate, 1 1/2 to 4” long, 1 to 2” wide.
 
 
Straight trunk and ascending branches.
 

Somewhat resistant to Dutch elm disease (DED)

 

‘Bea Schwarz’- Broad upright crown, resistant to Dutch elm disease.

‘Christine Buisman’ - Broadly erect form with central leader, resistant to Dutch elm disease

‘Dampieri’- Narrow conical form, leaves crisped, clustered on short shoots, broad-ovate, resistant to Dutch elm disease.

‘Groeneveld’ - Upright habit, dense crown, regular branching, resistant to wind and Dutch elm disease.

‘Homestead’- Dutch elm disease and phloem necrosis resistant, symmetrical somewhat pyramidal crown to oval-arching, dense dark green foliage may turn straw yellow in fall.

‘Pioneer’-Dutch elm and phloem necrosis resistant, globe shaped to rounded crown, large dark green leaves with empire yellow fall color, dense canopy.

‘Regal' - Dutch elm disease resistant develops strong central leader and rather open growth habit.

‘Sapporo Autumn Gold' - Upright vase-shaped form with glossy dark green leaves turn golden in faIl.

‘Umbraculifera’- Usually grafted high and forms a single-trunked tree with a densely globose head.to 30’, U. carpinifo/ia type.

‘Urban’- Resistant to Dutch elm disease.Tolerant of drought, pollution, soil compaction and restricted root space.
