Hosta 'Prince of Wales'

A hybrid of H. sieboldiana 'Elegans' H. montana, this cultivar was registered in 2012 by Diana Grenfell of England. It forms a giant size (36 inches high by 70 inches wide) mound of slightly corrugated, cupped, elliptic to ovate foliage with thick substance. Near white, tubular flowers bloom from June into July and it sets viable seeds.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Long leaf blade and impressive flower scape weighed down by the long, heavy raceme."

Similar cultivars include H. 'Blue Angel'.
