The American Hosta Society Popularity Poll: Average Ranking

For over 30 years, The American Hosta Society has conducted a poll of its membership to solicit their choices for the most popular hostas at a particular point in time. For two decades, large and giant size hostas totally dominated the results.

The introduction of many new cultivars (and species) of smaller sizes led to the institution of a second poll devoted to "Small" hostas. This poll started in 2003 and the following is a summary of the results of those submittals in alphabetical order. At the bottom of this page is a listing sorted in order of the plant's average rating.
