Susceptible to
black stem rust which also infects wheat and
should, therefore, NOT be planted in the
landscape.
B. gilgiana and B.
Koreana are very similar in habit and
have just as ornamental flowers, fruits and
autumn color. Either one of these should be
grown instead, since both are resistant to
the black stem rust of wheat.
